Chris & Justin B. Video Flop (Next To You)

I am sorry, but I had to chose this video to be the first Why??? post because the first time I saw this....I asked myself "Self?", myself said "Hmmm"..."Why?". So here it is. Now I LOVE this song, think it's beautiful, and Chris and Justin sound together. BUT I have a few problems with this video....

1. What the heck is the point? I sat the whole video waiting for it to make some sense. Is the world coming to an end? Are aliens taking over? Is this suppose to represent 911? They mentioned the sky falling in the song soooo is it although nothing is seen falling? WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING???? I am getting pissed just thinking about it actually, like who makes videos like this and give you no answers at the end? I need a part 2 to explain this guys, please and thank you.

2. Is this video (taking place in the middle of a city it seems) really the place for tribal dancers? Whose idea was that? Not much else to say about this, I just don't get it.

3. Did Chris Brown's girl die? And Justin got his girl? I watched it again and I don't know and it bothers me. Why go through all that effort showing him running to her after she gets hit by that car and then not even show her again? I guess we are suppose to think she died .

4. This last thing isn't a big deal, but I think the beginning was dumb and didn't need inclusion. This is not Moonwalker, we don't need all that extra stuff. Point blank.

So yea, I really think this video could have matched the quality of the song, but they failed miserably. Guess I will just try to ignore the pictures in my head and confusion from this video next time I hear the song on the radio or listen to it on my ipod, in hopes it won't ruin the experience.

Immature - We Got It / Ghetto Angel

Ok so every once in a while you just want to watch a good video or listen to a good song...or BOTH! So as I laid in bed trying to go to sleep, this song popped in my head so I decided to find it on you tube. I loved this song 11 yrs ago (1995) when I was 15 and I still do! I even remember the rap like it was yesterday. I remember me and girls being in love with Romeo and Batman and NO ONE cared about LDB! HA!

Then I wondered what he looked like now and so of course...I googled it and this is the most recent picture I could find (see below)...well if he still looks like that then I mean...I care NOW! LOL! Then I found out his real name is Kelton Kessee and he was born in 81, I could have sworn I was older than him, but dag he is 30 already!

And THEN I came across this video below in my googling..."Ghetto Angel" by Marques Houston ft. Immature...what rock was I under when this came out or was it just THAT bad that it just never really made it on anyone's top 1000 list? I did watch it and I am def not impressed so I can see why I never heard of it before. It doesn't even sound like him to me. I honestly don't see the beauty in calling a woman your "Ghetto Angel", I prefer the term "Down Chick". And OMG Romeo....he looks trife now, U-G-L-Y he ain't got no alibi! He and LDB def did a swap! Aaaaaaand of course, as it was 11yrs ago, they didn't give LDB his own part in the song, he is the one that needs to be in the camera now, not Romeo! Hmmmmm....

Syringes in Clothes?

Warning Shoppers: Clothes May Have Syringe Inside!!!

So it has been reported at Walmart in Cartersville, GA that people are finding syringes in clothes AND being stuck by them! I mean seriously? We have soooo many other things to worry about as human beings and I really do not want to have to be scared to go shopping now. First syringes in telephone booth change returns and now this. Why should I now have to shop by picking up items by pinching them and shaking them out? Takes the fun out of shopping! Oh and just in case I guess I will be shaking shoes upside down as well next time I find a nice pair. Shoot winter is approaching...check those hats, folded up scarfs, and gloves while you are at it. Just disgusting! Parents really have a reason to tell their children NOT to touch anything in the store now. All I have to say is online shopping is starting to look REAL good right about now if this is what I have to deal with. I see now why people do not want to bring children into this world, look what they have to look forward to, people are crazy.

I really hope they catch the people that did this because they deserve to go to jail!

The New American Christmas

Ok, I am not the author of this piece below, it was shared with me by my mother who got it from a friend who probably got it from a friend, but I wanted to share it with you all.....

"Hello Everybody ----- Christmas 2011 -- Birth of a New Tradition

As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high
gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This year will be different. This year Americans will give the gift of genuine
concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift
giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Yes
there is!

It's time to think outside the box, people. Who says a gift needs to fit in
a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper?
Everyone -- yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates
from your local American hair salon or barber?

Gym membership? It's appropriate for all ages who are thinking about some health improvement.

Who wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed? Small, American owned
detail shops and car washes would love to sell you a gift certificate or a
book of gift certificates.

Are you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing of plonking down the Benjamines on a Chinese made flat-screen? Perhaps that grateful gift receiver would like his driveway sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or driveway plowed all winter, or games at the local golf course.

There are a bazillion owner-run restaurants -- all offering gift
certificates. And, if your intended isn't the fancy eatery sort, what about
a half dozen breakfasts at the local breakfast joint. Remember, folks this
isn't about big National chains -- this is about supporting your home town
Americans with their financial lives on the line to keep their doors open.

How many people couldn't use an oil change for their car, truck or
motorcycle, done at a shop run by the American working guy?

Thinking about a heartfelt gift for mom? Mom would LOVE the services of a local cleaning lady for a day.

My computer could use a tune-up, and I KNOW I can find some young guy who is struggling to get his repair business up and running.

OK, you were looking for something more personal. Local crafts people spin their own wool and knit them into scarves. They make jewelry, and pottery and beautiful wooden boxes.

Plan your holiday outings at local, owner operated restaurants and leave
your server a nice tip. And, how about going out to see a play or ballet at
your hometown theatre.

Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing local bands.

Honestly, people, do you REALLY need to buy another ten thousand Chinese lights for the house? When you buy a five dollar string of light, about fifty cents stays in the community. If you have those kinds of bucks to burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter a nice BIG tip.

You see, Christmas is no longer about draining American pockets so that
China can build another glittering city. Christmas is now about caring about
US, encouraging American small businesses to keep plugging away to follow their dreams. And, when we care about other Americans, we care about our communities, and the benefits come back to us in ways we couldn't imagine.

THIS is the new American Christmas tradition.

Forward this to everyone on your mailing list -- post it to discussion
groups -- throw up a post on Craigslist in the Rants and Raves section in
your city -- send it to the editor of your local paper and radio stations,
and TV news departments. This is a revolution of caring about each other,
and isn't that what Christmas is about?"

I don't know about you all, but I totally agree with the concept. This goes for birthdays and other occasions as well. People automatically think electronics when they think gifts these days. I know for me, I would love a gift certificate for a car detail for Simone (my car), a gift certificate for a Deluxe Mani/Pedi (shoooooot that would save me like $60!), and plenty more I could go all day naming. I can go without a flat screen if I already have a TV, but go without getting my nails, hair, or eyebrows done....I think not. Those things are up there with my utility bills. So to all out there trying to think of what to get me for Christmas...please bookmark this page please and thank you.

This year I gave a few gift cards for massages (thanks to Groupon) to a few friends and family members as gifts for things like baby showers and birthdays. Now I wasn't thinking "got to support my fellow Americans", but I did think what can I do that is out of the norm and would be appreciated as much as, maybe even more than a piece of electronics. I have a friend who loves reading, perhaps a gift certificate to a local book store would be nice? Now obviously if your boyfriend said a million times plus one that he wants that new Japanese made Plasma for Christmas, go ahead and get it, but perhaps supplement it with something else.

I remember back in college there was a program held that was an Expo for local entrepreneurs to get exposure showcasing their talents like fashion design. A lot of famous artists (painting or drawing), cooks, and designers started off with the support of their local community. This is semi-changing the topic, but how about supporting our black businesses? There are a lot of black owned restaurants, beauty supply stores, craft shops (for custom made jewelry and clothing) that would love the support.

So next time you are gift pondering, think outside of the box and see what you can come up with.

What's your opinion???
